GLOBAL FOOD

Food items often travel around the world before we eat them. Analyze eating habits in your country. You might consider the following aspects, among others: time (mealtimes, time it takes to prepare and eat meals), accelerating lifestyles, presence of women in the workforce, access to a variety of foods, food advertising, ethnic food (which countries = which foods?)

  1. because of globalization we are now able to eat junk food in every country.nearly every small town has its own mac donalds or burger king.it doesn't take much time to be prepared and you can also buy it at every takeaway, that's very practical.it's shocking that so many people become overweight because of it but i wouldn't say that junk food should be forbidden.it's already a too important part of our time.

  2. I agree whith Pia! But I don't like the developpement, that more and more children eat alone ´, when they com e home from school, because both parents work! not, that I say that women should stay at home, that's stupid! I'ts just that I think every family should have at least one meal together! but if everything has to be so fast...

  3. I agree with Pia and Anna.
Mac Donalds. In the most countries of the world you can find a Mc Donalds.Time to prepare:2-5 minutes and it tastes very good.
But it's like Anna already said not a good development because children go to Mc Donalds or Burger King to eat instead going home and eat with their family.

  4. Totally, I agree with all of you. That`s right Anna, parents need to find some quality time for their children, also to make sure that everyone sits together on the table in breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Pia, you are right about the globalization fault that everyone now eats junk food, but on the other hand it`s people`s responsibility to take care of their health and not let the globalization put them down.

Overall, parents are responsible to take some time out for cooking at home, so that the family could stay HEALTHY and TOGETHER..... :)

  5. So MacDonald’s eh... it is tasty, it is good, and fast. Cheap over here, i dont know over there. But did you guys (Anna, Pia, David) ever think about the bananas you eat that are imported from countries from Latin America and Africa? That one example of how you can access a variety of foods. Not just junk food. I agree with Anna, there must be more family-time. Eating together brings a family closer. Society moves fast, and we shall move along with that paste, it is inevitable.

  7. I think food globalization is increasing bad habits of eating for young kids in other countries.Foods such as Burger King, Wendys, junk food, etc, are influencing young kids to eat poorly. I think people should start influencing healthier ways to eat and also influence people to make time for their families and eat as a family just like Lima suggested. I think junk food is appropriate from time to time but not how American kids are eating junk food on a regular basis. Yes fast food restaurants take less time to make the food but it's making many people lazy and entering bad eating habits. I think people should take the time to make their food and also experience other cultural foods.
